Perihelion is built using the Unity 6 engine.

Unity was chosen for various reasons.

  • Unity is understood best by the development team
  • Unity contains various tools that make what we are trying to do easier
  • Unity has extremely extensive documentation
  • Unity is very powerful without introducing much overhead

We want Perihelion to be as accessible as possible to as many people as possible, and Unity makes this possible with great performance and compatibility, while still allowing the game to become as complex as it has to be to run a realistic engine simulation.

AI Usage Policy: Perihelion does not utilize artifical intelligence technology in any way. Assets, code, and ideas are entirely handmade and human generated. We use standard tools for every aspect of making the game.
